WILDLIFE PROTECTION (REGULATION OF EXPORTS AND IMPORTS) ACT

Purpose of this act is to further the protection and conservation of wildlife (both terrestrial and marine) by regulating the export and import of certain plants, animals and goods including those covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES); permits are only granted in limited circumstances; provides for offences and penalties for unauthorised export or imports; administered by the ANPWS.
