A strategic plan is set up to eradicate bovine Tb from New Zealand, from endemic areas – where possums are the most important source of infection for deer or cattle, followed by movement of infected stock, and in non-endemic areas, where transfer of tuberculous cattle and deer from endemic areas is the most important source of new infections. Biological control of the possum and implementation of area movement control of stock are included in this plan.
