Rabbit Control and Bush Regeneration in Arid Lands

Rabbits contribute significantly to land degradation of pastoral lands and are a major economic and environmental concern for land managers. Previous experience of the Kingoonya Rabbit Control Group showed that effective rabbit control measures were not well understood by many land managers. Hands-on training in warren destruction was conducted to provide land managers with the knowledge and confidence to carry out this effective control measure. Through a comparison of two techniques, participants in the program were able to observe the impact and success of these measures and were encouraged to adopt these measures on their own properties
