Nature conservation on farms

Australia’s biodiversity (that is: different plants, animals and micro-organisms, the genetic information they contain and the ecosystems they form), is a significant National asset with recognised global significance. Conservation of native flora and fauna and maintenance of critical habitat and ecological processes are crucial to maintaining biodiversity. The maintenance of biodiversity has significant benefits for agriculture, science and medicine.
