Mammals collected in the Karluk Lake region, Kodiak I., Alaska

July-August expedition, found 3 males, I female, all in brown coats, in a pile of lumber, came out to inspect observers in response to imitation squeaking. One was shot, another ventured out onto top of lumber pile and attempted to drag away the body. Often ran across a wooden weir across river nearby and occasionally ventured down the supporting tripods to snatch small fish from the water. Female smallest, weight 74 g, total length 226 mm.
