The Land Management Sciences program provides scientific advice to government and other clients on land use and land management practices, feral animal and weed management, agricultural biotechnology, biodiversity in production systems, resource indicators, and greenhouse science.
The program coordinates the development of continent-wide regional and catchment scale digital data sets; undertakes spatially explicit modelling of natural resources processes (e.g. the impact of land clearing on greenhouse gas emissions from soils and vegetation) including remote sensing analysis of agricultural landscapes; and develops decision support tools to assist land management, greenhouse and climate change, weed and feral animal management and agricultural biotechnology issues.
