Game hunting in Victoria: Wildlife Officers, Parks Rangers and Police

Officers of the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Parks Victoria and Victoria Police are carrying out a difficult job. They are the best people to speak to for current information and will help you wherever possible.

When hunting you may be stopped by a Wildlife Officer, Parks Victoria Ranger or member of the Police force. An officer should show you proper identification and you should ask to see this identification if it is not offered.

Wildlife Officers may wish to speak with you to collect survey information, offer or ask advice on hunting conditions, check your game or firearms license, check your bag of game, or to investigate a possible offense.
