Feral Goat Eradication from the Western Australian Rangelands

The objective is to eradicate feral goats from the Western Australian rangelands over a five year period by a coordinated effort on both pastoral leases and public land. This objective operates within the goal of reducing land degradation and achieving the sustainable use of the rangeland resources.

The primary performance indicator for the project will be a census of the number of feral goats occurring in the rangelands. Secondary indicators will be the number of implemented feral goat eradication plans at LCDC level, the increase in the number of feral goats turned off and destroyed within each LCD, the assessment of the eradication effort by pastoralists, and the increase in the movement of feral goats into profitable markets.
