A longitudinal study of bovine tuberculosis in possums and cattle

A project area of 21 ha within a 40 ha paddock which was being grazed by beef cattle was studied over 22 months. There were 26 779 trapcatch units over 108 trapnights and 22 visits. 39 possums were confirmed as being infected with M. bovis by bacteriological examination. Over the 22 months it was estimated that tuberculosis infection was present in 20% of the possums.
