We must always consider all wild dog issues including:

  • peri-urban (zones of transition from rural to urban land uses located between the outer limits of urban and regional centres and the rural environment)
  • biodiversity protection (the amount of diversity between different plants, animals and other species in a given habitat at a particular time)
  • dingo conservation situations, and
  • raising awareness of recruitment of wild dogs from owned dogs (backyard dogs, pig dogs, etc.)

The National Wild Dog Action Plan is an industry initiative endorsed by Government.
Wild dog information published by the Invasive Animals CRC is at www.pestsmart.org.au/pest-animal-species/wild-dog/
